Celebrate Basant Panchami at Avanamcode Saraswathi Temple, Nedumbassery | Kerala

Basant Panchami is the perfect occasion to start new ventures such as investments, business, Aksharabhyasam (initiation into learning), and Annaprasham (first feeding ceremony). It is an auspicious day for devotees to offer prayers, seek blessings, and celebrate with family.

Basant Panchami (also called Saraswati Pooja), is a festival dedicated to Maa Saraswathi, the Goddess of Knowledge, Arts, and Music, and is celebrated with great devotion at the Avanamcode Saraswathi Temple, Nedumbassery Kerala. Vasant Panchami celebrations in Kerala are observed annually on the fifth day of the bright half of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month of Magha, marks the divine birthday of Maa Saraswathi and is a time for new beginnings, prayers, and spiritual growth.

Aksharabhyasam (Vidyarambham)

  • Timings: 9:15 AM to 11:00 AM.

  • No prior booking is required, and all necessary materials for the ritual will be provided by the temple.

  • This is a significant ritual, especially for students and young children, as it symbolizes the beginning of their journey into education under the blessings of Maa Saraswathi.
